The smooth melody flowing through a golden trumpet can only be heard from the infamous Jess Petty. He not only sings jazz and classics, he incorporates the wonderful trumpet and flugelhorn into his music. Jess has been playing and performing live music for over 50 years. He has built up quite a following of fans and can still be heard playing occasionally at the Ledson Hotel in Sonoma on the square or at Main Street Station in Guerneville. Just the other day, I heard him playing the trumpet on a song that was playing on KJZY 93.7, the Jazz radio station.
